Prime Minister Boris Johnson fired Michael Gove on the 6th of July 2022, a well respected MP and chief architect of the white paper released by the government called ‘A fairer private rented sector’.
The man given the task of replacing him is Rt Hon Greg Clark who was given the job on the 7th of July 2022. He has inherited a huge task laid out in the white paper with the additional challenges of the current state of government.
This is not the first time Greg Clarke has been in this role, as under Prime Minister David Cameron he occupied the position for a year in 2015-2016. He also has the position of Business Secretary in his resume which he held for 3 years under Theresa May.
The Levelling Up, Housing and Communities section of government is currently in recovery mode after being impacted by the mass resignation leading up to Boris Johnson's own resignation.

The Rt Hon Michael Gove MP2021 to 2021
The Rt Hon Robert Jenrick MP
2019 to 2021
The Rt Hon James Brokenshire MP
2018 to 2019
